Absolutely DO NOT remove the wax from asbestos tile! Asbestos tile should be removed by a professional with all of the proper equipment. It is no longer legal to use asbestos in tile due to the hazardous risks. As it is your tile is safe as long as the wax is on it. When the wax is taken off the tile, it allows the asbestos particles into the air. If removing it is not an option, I suggest covering it instead.
