White Heat Mark on Leather Topped Writing Desk

How do I remove a white heat mark from a leather type of dark green surfaced writing desk? I placed a cup of hot coffee on a few sheets of white paper on my new desk and left a fantastic white mark on its surface within an hour of getting it.
I guess its the wax thats gone white. I've not fiddled with it in case I make it worse.

I've actually had luck with putting mayonaise on the area, leaving it overnight and...poof... the mark is gone in the AM!!

If it's real leather, get a spray leather cleaner.

If it's not real leather, try some Armor All.
