Dog Going To the Bathroom Inside at NightDebbie from UK Feedback About This Post:RE: Dog Going To the Bathroom Inside at NightI need help. We have had our rescue dog for about four weeks. I keep taking her outside to do her business. At first she went fine. Now she either takes forever or not at all, and have found poopy inside the house. I need help in what to do. Post By Patty. (Guest Post) RE: Dog Going To the Bathroom Inside at NightWe have a 6 year old predominantly border collie who never went to the bathroom inside until this week. We are always home; he gets walked daily and we have a huge yard. Help! Post By Patricia Henderson (Guest Post) RE: Dog NOT WANTING TO GO IN THE BACKYARD TO POOHI have a 7 year old male schnauzer if I put him in the backyard to do his business it will take forever or not happen at all. I'm his second owner and his last owner just let him run loose and go where he pleases. If I put him out back and leave him he will sit at the back door and bark or just sit there. I'm afraid that he will be hit by a car or hurt by another dog. I don't have all day to wait outside with him to go. how can I get him to go out back? mrbaker5881 AT sbcglobal.net Post By PATRICK (Guest Post) RE: Dog Going To the Bathroom Inside at NightI have a 4 year old Cairn Terrier mix that I rescued from the street when she was about 1 year old. She poops and pees in the house all the time. I have tried everything to housetrain her and bring her outside after she eats. I thought that she might be afraid of the dark or may not see well in the dark, so I bring her outside w/a flashlight and tell her what a good girl she is if she goes potty. Then, during the night, she potties in the house. We also have a 150 lb Rotty/Lab Mix that I have trained to "take sister potty" which he does but then she poops in the house. I have also tried feeding her in the morning so she will go outside to potty during the day. I don't think she would respond well to being crated as I have her trained to "get in your basket" to sleep or when she needs to feel safe. A friend suggested that I start using "pee pads", so last night I did and she peed on the pee pad but pooped in the kitchen. I try so hard to be patient w/her because I believe she was abused and had to run around in fear for her life from everything and everybody! Short of lining the entire floor with pee pads, I am at a loss of what to do. Can anyone suggest anything else I might do? Post by AileenMBoren RE: Dog Going To the Bathroom Inside at NightTake her out side just before you go to bed, we do this everynite, just before we go to bed,we take dogs out, then they sleep alll nite Post By Rosa (Guest Post) RE: Dog Going To the Bathroom Inside at Night
Our Jack Russell and Yorkie sleep toghether in a large crate with a brown velvet loveseat for doggies Post by meoowmom RE: Dog Going To the Bathroom Inside at Night
I have been having the same problem and 4 nights ago I starting having a little talk with her right at bedtime. I tell her if she needs to go out to wake me up, that good doggies/girls don't poop in the house. And remind her that she is a good girl. Post By Beverly (Guest Post) RE: Dog Going To the Bathroom Inside at NightOne of my dogs sleeps in a crate in my bedroom, the other sleeps in my bed with me but he is leashed to the footboard so he can't wander at nite. Post By Linda (Guest Post) RE: Dog Going To the Bathroom Inside at NightI am a firm believer in crating the dog at night. I do this w/me 2 Pomerainians, and my 1 little Yorkie. They will not mess in the crate and as soon as I let them out in the mornings they bolt for the doggie door. This has really helped in keeping the house clean at night. You can get Crates at second hand stores and on Ebay. You don't hve to pay a fortune for a crate and they really come in handy. Post By COOKIEPOM (Guest Post) RE: Dog Going To the Bathroom Inside at NightWhen our cocker started doing so, we leashed her (tied her up) at night. We also do so when we leave the house during the day, 'cause otherwise she will get into the garbage while we are gone. She will not poo or pee when tied up. We have never used a kennel, just a leash beside her basket. Beside her basket is her food and water so we know she would be okay for hours, if need be.
