I use old presciption bottles for lotions, shampoos, conditioner, and even my body gel!I can never find sanples of the stuff I use (NEXXUS for hair and curel for lotion, and softsoap gardinia bath gel). I don't like to change products over a vacation as it may cause rashes, itching, etc... One big hint, if you choose to use old medicine bottles, rinse them with boiling hot water before you even think about putting anything in them. Your spouse may be allergic to the medication you were taking and vice versa!-Misty

The hotels we stay at leave shampoo, lotion, etc ea day so I just use those if I need to for traveling; however most places we stay provide these items so no reason to bring. They do come in handy tho for when we visit family, etc. My husband travels some for business so brings home shampoo, little bars of soap, etc. Some gets used at home too....but any of the little bottles can be refilled if necessary.

Keep the free sample items from stores, brand websites (unilever and P&G are the biggest) and even the Red Cross....I went through an apartment fire, so they gave us 4 toiletry bags, with literally 20-30 shampoo and soap samples! Lucky for us, they worked out great when we moved and were cutting costs and living out of a suitcase for a month!

As a college student, I travelled a fair amount. Instead of buying expensive sample sizes of things, I got a few small plastic containers from the drug store and put my toiletries in them for travel. That way, I could just pour in the container the exact amount that I would need for my trip (plus one or two days) from the larger sizes that I already had at home. Twenty years later, I still have the same little bottles. I also learned to store them in individual plastic bags (Ziploc or other lock-top bags) so that they won't leak all over everything else with pressure changes in the airplane. I take a sample size of Woolite or other delicate wash liquid so I can hand wash my own clothes, if necessary. That way I don't have to pack so much and don't worry if I spill something on my clothing.

What I like to do is reuse the sample bottles that I buy the first time, and refull them,
I also so the same thing with my toothpaste,
some thing you just have enough time to stock up on samples
