Cleaning Popcorn CeilingsPenny from Ipava Feedback About This Post:RE: Cleaning Popcorn Ceilings
If your popcorn or textured ceiling was installed in 1935 to 1978 it could contain Asbestos. It is best not to get any of that knocked down as it is a health hazard. Post by Kaelle RE: Cleaning Popcorn Ceilings
I also had the popcorn ceilings and hated those things with a passion, so I took my broom and swept them down, yes the little "rolly pollies' went every where but I couldn't believe how clean the ceilings were afterward. I vacuumed up all the mess and now I have a nice clean ceiling to look at. I would never have another popcorn ceiling. [after getting all of the stuff off the ceiling, it can be painted] Post By Granny Lou (Guest Post) RE: Cleaning Popcorn CeilingsI also vacuum with the extension of my upright and the brush. Some stuff drops off so I always have to vacuum the floor after that:) Post by Har'iet RE: Cleaning Popcorn CeilingsI have used a couple of things: (1) a long handled "fluffy" duster; and (2) a broom to which I have attached a damp cloth. I brush over the ceiling gently/lightly, some of the little white bumps come off, but it's easier for me than using a vacuum. Post By Martha (Guest Post) RE: Cleaning Popcorn CeilingsIf you have a canister style vacuum cleaner, use the long hose attachment with the brush on the end of it. Brush over the ceiling very lightly with the brush & vacuum it. You may need a step ladder too. Post by bluealt |
