Too Many Bananas?By Donna from Sterling, PA Feedback About This Post:RE: Too Many Bananas?
Freeze them! just throw them as they are into the freezer then of course they can be used in any baking recipe. Once frozen bananas are highly recommended in baking rather than fresh. The sugars are much more potent Post by Aujussauce RE: Too Many Bananas?Banana milkshakes are the best! Post by payrollgenius RE: Too Many Bananas? They taste great when mashed and used as the middle layer in a cake. Spice cake is really good with mashed banana filling. My Mom loves mashed bananas and peanut butter sandwiches and bananas freeze really well. Post by catastrofy RE: Too Many Bananas?Pies & pudding; add to homemade granola bars, mush them up & dry in oven or dehydrator to make fruit leather, add them to bran muffins, with blackberries, blueberries or strawberries to make a wonderful smoothie. Mush them up & freeze them with coconut milk to make tasty ice cubes. Ice cream. Great in chocolate cake or brownies. Post by Cyinda RE: Too Many Bananas?I make a smoothie using a sliced, frozen banana, chocolate soy milk, and a squirt of honey. You could also add some peanut butter. Use any kind of milk that you like. Post by Maryeileen RE: Too Many Bananas? How about some banana pancakes with pecans or blueberry's or a cake or some muffins. I also make some muffins with the bananas add blueberries. Just add a cup of berries and bake so good or cookies have fun. Post by sillepeanut RE: Too Many Bananas?Peel them and then freeze them, them you can dip them in Hershey's chocolate as an after dinner dessert. My kids and grandkids love this. It's also good with peanut butter. Post by shotowolf RE: Too Many Bananas?Instead of banana bread, why not make banana muffins? I use the banana bread recipe, only make into muffins. They bake in less time, & freeze easy. Post by WIsgal RE: Too Many Bananas? How about a banana split or banana cream pie ;-) You can also peel, cut and freeze each one in an individual container/baggie and grab one or two directly from the freezer for future protein drinks and smoothies. Just know that once thawed they are really mushy. Post by Deeli |
