I got paint on my dinning room table and used Skin So Soft to remove it... it worked GREAT! And smells pretty good too!

We didn't have rubbing alcohol but started using nail polish remover. Nail polish remover and WD-40 work great. Use the remover then the WD-40 and keep repeating until gone. Mixed together they didn't work as well. The remover loosened the marker and the WD-40 pulled it up from the stone. Baby oil works great and is safe to remove marker from skin. I got sharpie on the kitchen counter. I read these posts by people and found the the WD-40 and rubbing alcohol mixed worked wonders. About 98% of the marks came off. So I was satisfied. But then just to get the the chemicals off for a clean space, I used 409. WONDERFUL. 100% clean.

OK so spray sunscreen does work BUT be careful. It will also remove paint. My daughter colored all over my white Pottery Barn Table. I did remove the sharpie marker but took some of the paint of leaving the finish very dull. It does look better than marker. I would just recommend a small spot test first! I used the aresol sunscreen.

Any oil/grease based product seems to work as long as it's not on fabric. Hand lotion and sunscreen seem to be the easiest and cheapest (especially when family members love gifting you scents you hate).
Although to get it off of flesh (like creative 5 yr olds) you need to use it within the first 2 hours.

I found nail polish remover worked amazingly. I didn't even have to scrub. Just a little dab on a piece of toilet paper and it worked like magic now my walls are extremely white, because I used it on pretty much every other stain on my walls as well! Hope I helped! eli fast

Unfortunately, I listened to a sudden impulse to draw flowers all over my bedroom door to make it more interesting. I have tried toothpaste, acetone, Goo Gone, sunscreen, and rubbing alcohol. Now I have a big, colorful blob covering my door, an oranginsh. beauty-parlor-smelling room, sunscreen covered hands. Oh, and an angry mother. . .

i have an idea, i used it on my frisbee and it got 90% of the marker off. 50%lighter fluid and 50%rubbing alcohol. it did wonders.

My son 1 y/o decided to draw his grandma a picture before we went home. At least her fridge had decoration at that point. I used nail polish remover. Must becareful on what surfaces you use it on. It will strip paint. Tonight my son decided to used my moms desk phone as a canvas. He drew one of his well known pictures with black permanent marker. I used one of the tips above and it worked. We colored over it with a dry erase marker. Note: to mom put the markers away. She still haven't gotten the marker out of her new sheets. Got to love those grand kids.

Remove Permanent marker from white vinyl fence
Someone wrote with a wide permanent marker on my fence several days ago. It is in a sunny area and I have tried the following with NO luck at all: Fantastic, non-acetone nail polish remover, Mr Clean MAgic Eraser (heavy duty), Goo gone, goo gone extra strength, and also tried sanding it off, which just damaged the fence. The fence looks really white, but the marker is still there. Any suggestions? I'm thinking it's set in because the sun baked it for a few days.

Try some WD 40, it works on almost anything with a poreous surface. My girlfriend had glue on her new "high dollar" wood flooring, we used it and it removed all traces. It is an excellent petroleum based product. It removes ink from just about everything else.

removed Sharpie from Porcelain and Wood Paneling
I just took WD-40 and rubbing alcohol and tried to use them to remove mettalic silver Sharpie from the porcelain top of a washing machine and the wall behind it, which was cheap wood paneling (fake wood). I also needed to clean it off of the plastic knobs and many painted surfaces of the clothes washer.
Neither the WD-40 or the rubbing alcohol did it without tons of scratching with fingernails, BUT when I accidently mixed them everything wiped off in seconds. It was incredible!
That's my answer for the future a mixture of WD-40 and 70% Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol practically rinses the metallic Sharpie off of surfaces.

Aerosol!
If it is a smooth plastic/rubber/metal/wood etc. surface, use anything that is aerosol then rub it away with a paper towel, repeat. if it is cloth use a product called "Wine away" its made for wine, but works for all sorts of things.

Can you believe that my 2 1/2 year old daughter wrote on my stone fireplace with a red sharpie last night? I googled how to get it out and came to this. I will say that Mr. Clean Magic erasers will get it off of just about any painted surface.

I have some stuck to my locker too i just did it today and so far all that i have used on the stupid black marks is germ-x but it didnt come all the way off. what should i do.

Using a white board marker over the Sharpie ink, them wiping with rubbing alcohol will remove it from most smooth surfaces.

I have a piece of feldspar w/ pink tourmaline flecks...I am making a pendant of ... traced it onto a gold sheet with sharpie and the sharpie touched in a few spots... the feldspar absorbed it like a sponge. Being in an all boys school, you can imagine the kinds of things that are put on the outsides of lockers. Well, in a metalic sharpie, they did a very inappropriate symbol. i used a magic eraser from Mr. Cean and it came off right away. So powerful that the brown paint began coming off but you couldn't tell!

My 3 year old did a few lines of Sharpie on my dining room table.
A few hours later,
We used a sponge with a scouring back, and used Comet cleaner.
The markings came off.

My son just put his stupid symbol with a sharpie marker on a public bench, stone and a fence. I am not quite sure how he is going to get it off but it will probably be with vinegar or rubbing alcohol with a really strong brush. Hope this helps.

Try a product called Awesome sold at Dollar Tree. I sat on a purple sharpie, open of course, on my tan suede like couch and had 3 quarter size spots. It took it right off. It was a miracle. It did not take the ink off of my shorts though! Give it a try!

I have had good luck in removing inks with cheap hair spray or rubbing alcohol. Spray allow to soak in and scrub. It takes several attempts.

Could you use a Dremel rotary tool with an abrasive drum (sandpaper ?) to grind or sand it off? That's probably what I'd try................or sponge/smudge on some matching craft paint to cover it up. Good Luck.
