Painting a Church's Children's Room With Multiple ColorsI want to make the room look bigger and more like a room for children. I have seen rooms using a multicolor design and I thought this may work in this space. I just wanted to get some feedback on that. Should I even try this, should I stick to one or maybe two colors, what should those colors be? We are on somewhat on a tight budget for this project, so we want to make sure to complete this project wisely. I Know you mentione painting, but you also mentioned paneling and this is *PERFECT* for paneling. Post by carrie69 RE: Painting a Church's Children's Room With Multiple Colors
Consider 'advertising' in church paper beforehand. People might have excess paint in their basements that is not enough to cover a whole room but maybe a wall or so. That would cut your costs tremendously. Post By mommy of two (Guest Post) RE: Painting a Church's Children's Room With Multiple ColorsTry painting the walls white and then buy little quarts of primary colored paint (or just red and blue) and have the children make handprints on the wall. either in a pattern or scattered. Just pour a small amount of the colored paint on paper plates and have the kids dip their hands in. Post by kimmcg RE: Painting a Church's Children's Room With Multiple ColorsSince you are on a tight budget, I was thinking you could do the entire room one color, than buy wall decals (Pooh, princesses, etc) that you can buy @ Walmart or Home Depot. If you do have a chair rail (which I'm not sure you do with the paneling), you could do two different colors and even add a border, but this gets pricey. Good luck! Post by keligator RE: Painting a Church's Children's Room With Multiple ColorsYou could use one or 2 light colors like white or antique white and brighten it up by making a rainbow out of the colored noodles that are used for swimmimg pool activities. They are foam like, float in the water and appr. 5 feet long. I seen this on a daycare wall once. They are about $2 a piece at Walmart. I hope ya'll know what I'm talking about. Post by acope RE: Painting a Church's Children's Room With Multiple ColorsSomething to think about--the cooler colors (such as green and blue) are soothing, whereas the warmer colors (yellow and orange) tend to be more stimulating. You might consider doing something whimsical--sky blue with white clouds on the ceiling, continuing down the walls. If you have a chair rail along the walls (as many church buildings do), you could do a solid color of grass green from the rail down. It might even be fun to enlist the children in painting a meadow of flowers in bright tempera paints, available at most craft stores. Fun! Post by pjpark RE: Painting a Church's Children's Room With Multiple ColorsYou might want to check a store like Lowe's or Home Depot for gallons of paint that have been mixed incorrectly or were returned by customers--these are often sold at a discount. Be open-minded when it comes to colors, and you might find something to fit in your budget and look great at the same time. Post By Allison (Guest Post) |
