Removing Carpet StainsDave from San Diego, CA Feedback About This Post:RE: Using a Basket Filter in a Coffee PercolatorJust an FYI. Cholesterol comes exclusively from animals sources, not plants. Post By Teresa Smith Lexington, Kentucky (Guest Post) RE: Using a Basket Filter in a Coffee PercolatorPerked coffee is supposed to have lots more caffeine and a few other negatives - please research this. Interesting idea. I've read that Swedish studies have shown a link of perked coffee to various ailments (check PubMed). Maybe filtering will undo whatever harm perking does, which seems to do with residues (including those oils) that filters catch. Post By peseta (Guest Post) RE: Using a Basket Filter in a Coffee PercolatorI use this exact method! I bought this type of Coffee pot. I figured it would be better than having my coffee brewed in plastic. Stainless Steel is much better and I think my coffee tastes better. I does take a few times to get the knack with the filters. If you use Spot Shot or Oxyclean (or any other similar type of product) be SURE to rinse out ALL residues of these chemicals as they WILL cause the carpet color to fade in the areas where they have been used. These products are designed to remove stains (specifically the colors associated with stains). Unfortunately these chemicals don't know the difference between the color of the stains and the carpet's own color! The resulting effect is carpet that has faded spots. Post By Colorful Carpets (Guest Post) RE: Removing Carpet Stainsa great product is called Spot Shot. It is about $4-5 a bottle but well worth it. It is cheaper if you get it at sams or costco.
