Reusing Wrapping Paper
Well here's a way to make it look practically like new again. IRON IT!
Yes, ironing with a Medium HOT iron and steam will take almost all the wrinkles and creases out and make it reusable. CAUTION: Keep the iron moving on the paper or it will burn.

I have always saved Sunday comics for use as wrapping paper, I think they look quite fun.
I have been trying for the last few years to use fabric instead of paper to wrap presents. Fabric comes in amazing and beautiful variety. This truly can be ironed and re-used for years and years. If everyone in the family would do this, the familiar patterns would come around each year and add to the traditional joy of christmas. IMHO.

I saved all the wrapping paper this year for packaging material--works better than newspaper since it doesn't lose its ink. Even used it to pack some Christmas decorations away.

Our family calls it preloved with extra hugs. We use all sorts of crumpled paper with a pretty bow so the person knows we picked the gift with care and we hugged it before we sent it.
