Preventing Pantry Pests

Clean up spills in your cabinet quickly. Store food in air tight plastic, glass or metal containers. Clean food storage areas at least once a year and inspect packaging for leaks. Get rid of any packages that appear to be contaminated by insects.

RE: Preventing Pantry Pests

Last spring I had tiny ants around my counter. I think they were coming from around the electric receptacle of the back splash. Hard to get rid of them because I could not put anything wet near the receptacle. I tried to wipe down with vinegar. Does anyone have any better suggestions?

Guest post, Those wormey things you spoke of are India meal moths larvae. They make webs in grains, pasta, packaged food. Hatch into small moths that look similar to clothes moths.

Putting bay leaves around your cupboards will also help keep the bugs away. I get these brownish, ugly, wormy-type things that get in everything, closets and all. They don't like the bay leaves either, but does anyone know what they are and how to get rid of them?
