Our church group wants to make a bedside "tote bag" for nursing home residents, as Christmas gifts. We need a suitable pattern.

Bags made to fit over the arm of walkers & wheelchairs work very well for this. They have many pockets and are made in pretty fabrics. Tuck one side between the mattress's. Sometimes they are hard to find, but they are out there, and can also be easily made.

What a nifty idea! I'd like instructions on how to make your bedside pouch! I do have a picture in mind how it is made, and I would also sew on a decorative border for a feminine effect. Same for a male effect too.
