Home Remedies for Gout

Does anyone know of any home remedies for temporary relief from gout (in my right foot)? I am in misery! Thanks.

I tried cherry juice with not much results, I guess it may help others. I take Clochicine tablets prescribed by my Dr. They help a lot. Start taking them as soon as you feel the gout attack coming on. Drink AS MUCH WATER as you can hold while taking these, it seems the more water you drink the faster the pills work.

One source of the cherry juice my son said his boss uses is NATURE BLESSED CHERRY JUICE CONCENTRATE You take 2 TB in 6-8 oz water. RED TART CHERRIES. That is all the meds his boss has used for years. It cost about $20 a quart of concentrate. This was located as a special order from the grocery store.

2ndly---an OLD old medication used for gout years and years ago was GUAIFENESIN. There was a connection between those using the Guai for their gout and the discovery that the use of it for FIBROMYALGIA was great too. Those needing to know, ask your pharmacist--seriously expect a decent answer. OR GOOGLE Guaifenesin use.
Anyway, for my Fibromyaliga I have used the guaifenesin daily since 1997 and I can tell if I skip a daily dose, my body feels toxic--and I can imagine what gout would feel like, the severe pain, etc. They are both of the arthritis family. There are hundreds of thousands of people world wide that use the guai for the FMS.

Now the Adams company did some nasty con tricks and cornered the free market, re-formated the guaifenesin to call it MUCINEX. They sued all other companies who were still making it until the copyright law forced most out of that market. Lots of us have to get ours world wide from other countries.

You can mix the cherry juice with Sprite, 7-up or Sierra Mist. Then if you would like, add lime juice and/or cherries to make a cherry lime-ade, yummy and gives you a bit of variety!

Thanks to everyone for responding. I do have a question about the cherry juice. Can you dilute it with water or do you have to drink it straight? I am SO tired of having to take steroids every time this happens. t is making me have other physical problems. Thanks again! Julie

Gout - Burdock root tea "may"(**) clean the uric acid out of the blood system. I have heard of relief coming in as soon as 15 minutes. Mike

I read in a Prevention magazine that cherries would relieve gout. A number of men that I worked with had gout and it helped them. Chimes

If you drink Black cherry juice you can off set a flame up very quickly BUT, it will leave you in the bathroom for a while. You only need about 8 ounces or so and organic is best if you can get it. My boyfriend has gout in his feet and it works like a charm for him. I hope anyone who has gout will take this advice to heart.

Copied this from a site called FORGOTTEN MEDICAL CURES.

Ditto on the baking soda cure. It has been miraculous for me! Usually a dose or two is all it takes. Last time, the red, burning place on my foot was gone the next morning. Amazing! Just cut back on salt for a day or so. You can also take it as a preventative if you plan to eat something (like shrimp for me) that you know will provoke an attack.

100% Organic Black Cherry juice has helped me quite a bit. It doesn't taste great but it does wonders.
