Try the pink stuff (cleaning agent) from the betterware catalogue £3.99

It works for leathers without being abrasive also it took old pen marks out of my sofa with one wipe! Good for taking marks off wood furniture too. Not good for the faux leather though, gl

Just tried the Magic Eraser on cream colored leather sofa to remove ink stain. It smeared the ink and lighteded the leather. Going to buy rubbing alcohol to give that a try. I do not suggest the Magic Eraser on leather.

I would try rubbing alcohol first...we tried the hairspray that everyone raved about and it ate away at the leather.

I have tried alcohol, purel, hairspray, perfume and have been unsuccessful in removing a line of blue ink from my Wilson's leather cream colored purse. It has faded some but its still noticeable. Is there anything else I can try? It just happened. My 3yr old did it, and not sure why? I have been working on it for over an hour. Please help any suggestions? Thanks, Tessa

I would not recommend using alcohol on light cream colored leather because it made that area lighter (but it did remove the ink spot). so I used a cream pastel color pencil to color in the bleached area. What else do you expect me to do! Ha...ha.

DO NOT!, I repeat, do not use the magic eraser on a leather purse for ink, especially pebbled leather! Ink spread out into a one inch stain. I should have tried the alcohol first. It worked like a charm. Now can anyone tell me how to get the large smudge of ink left by the magic eraser? Even the alcohol won't work. It's an expensive bag with a marigold color? HELP!

I actually have dye transfer from a black dress on my leather seats. I also have ink from a receipt. Any ideas on removal?

I had an ink spot that my niece or god son put on my brand new beige color leather couch and no one wanted to confess to it, but anyway. I googled how to remove ink from leather and I got this website where I read the rubbing alcohol worked, so I ran and got some rubbing alcohol and tried it and it worked. Rubbing alcohol DOES work to remove ink from leather!

I tried tooth paste on an ink stain on my cream colored leather sectional. It did not completely remove the stain. However, what did work was a MR. CLEAN MAGIC ERASER. It took it off completely! And it did not affect the leather surface. Try it, I highly recommend it.

Can someone help? I have just cleaned my leather sofa where I got ink on it out of pen. I used a baby wipe and it started taking the top layer of my cream leather off it's on a arm of my 2 seater. What can I do it looks awful. Please help.

I, too, tried Goo Gone, leather cleaner and even liquid dishwasher detergent. Nothing. Your site suggested rubbing alcohol. It immediately removed blue ink from my light beige leather couch! Thanks!

DEFINATELY use the perfume. Totally worked for me on my leather couch after my daughter had fallen asleep with pen on her & it left a mark on the couch. So Happy now that my couch is finally clean again :]

I was just surfing the internet not knowing what my son was doing. When I looked back it was too late, ink all over my leather. I googled and found this site and used the rubbing alcohol, and it totally worked. There is NOTHING left.

Thank God for this website it saved my marriage! My 22month old daughter took a ink pen and scribble on my brand new natural color leather sofa I though I would just die LOL I quickly google " how to remove ink from leather" and this website was one of many and I began to read, I tried Shout It Out no luck, I tried Goo Gone that didn't work, I tried alcohol that didn't work, At last when I tried Arm & Hammer tooth paste that work You have to apply it and then let it sit for 5min wipe it clean and then reapply it apply it again until it disappear, this real worked!

This is the truth. And, I hope it helps someone. I purchased a new Cole Haan leather bag and TODAY was my first time carrying it. I just arrived home about 1 hour ago and noticed a black ink spot. First of all toothpaste did not work. However, I used the walgreens brand hand sanitizer and it REMOVE THE INK COMPLETLY in three different spots on the same handbag/purse.

You can use tooth paste and rub it in with a toothbrush and then let it sit for a couple of minutes wipe it off and you can barely see it. You can also use nail polish.

You can use toothpaste. It works pretty good just leave it on the stain for a few minutes, rub it off and you can barely see the stain.

I have a distressed leather sofa, so it doesn't have much of a finish on it. I used hairspray on a q-tip to try to remove ball point ink and it made matters worse. Finally, after prayer to the good Lord Jesus, I pulled out a tub of Quick 'n Brite. They say on the tub that ink on leather is usually not removable, and to be careful using their product on unfinished leather, suede, etc. So I put a tiny bit of the Quick 'n Brite butter in an inconspicuous area, and it seemed fine. Eventually I used a damp toothbrush to apply a teeny amount of Quick 'n Brite butter full strength to the stain & I brushed in circles. It lifted out the dark residue from the hairspray, and as I dried it with a towel >> it looks great. I'm very pleased.

Do not use alchol or any alcohol based product on dark leather furniture. It will turn it lighter.

Alcohol worked, I tried everything from leather cleaner to hairspray but it did nothing. Alcohol took it right off. It was dark blue pen on white leather seat.

Folks, I just use plain old rubbing alcohol. I think that's the ingredient in all the above solutions that make each one work. I just got an ink stain out of my car's tan leather seats with alcohol, a cotton ball and a little elbow grease! All Gone!

I just tried the antibacterial soap (Purel) and it took off some of the finish and faded the colour of my brown leather sofa so use this method with caution. Also, if you have children, keep the Purel away from them because I've read that even swallowing a small bit of it could cause them to become "drunk" because there is a high alcohol content in it, that's why it dries so fast!

I used a cleaner that is for cowboy boots and it worked very well. It not only cleaned the leater but it has a leather conditioner and uv protectant in it. It worked great. Usually anyplace that sells cowboy boots or western wear will have this.

Try soft scrub. Rub gently, wipe, reapply and rub again, repeat until the spot is gone.

I took advice to use the perfume to remove ink from my wife's Mercedes C-230 driver seat. I used "Britney Spear's" perfume and now my wife is pregnant, shaved her head and is on her way to the mental institution. Do not use her perfume to try to remove the ink....trust me!

Dark maroon leather couch. I'm having issues with getting a hi-liter out. Contacted the company and they were no help. I have tried the things here and maybe I'm not doing it right. I used the antibacterial gel and the ink soaked into a much larger spot than it was before. It was a few spots of black ink on a pink leather wallet... now its A LOT of dark purple ink on a pink leather wallet.

Ive tried both hairspray and anitbacterial gel on my cream leather handbag and the ink stain wont come off but the leather is:( My stain is quite old so that might have something to do with it.
