Getting Gum Out of a DryerChibi Feedback About This Post:RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerWow you saved my butt lol. I'm an 18 year old collage student who left staying in someones house and forgot gum in my shirt pocket. I found this site and while the house owners were out I did what you said and it worked. Thank you. Post by waxtax2003 RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerShout out spray and a dryer sheet worked like a charm. I sprayed the dryer with shout, let it sit a few minutes then cleaned with a dryer sheet. I then just wiped down with a damp towel. Very fast and EASY! Post By Lisa S. (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerThank you for the advice! I had gum all over the inside of my (new) dryer. I followed the advice of the "Spray and Wash" and the fabric softner sheet. It worked so well and my dryer looks great. Thank you. Post By Lauren (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerI love this sight. I used Glade Fabric and Air and sprayed it into the dryer, let sit for seconds and then used several dryer sheets and scrubbed it right out within 15 minutes. Thanks to you all for your help and advice. I thought my new dryer was wasted. Post By Allison in Wyoming (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a Dryer
You are all great! I have to say, I am surprised more men aren't commenting, as we cause the problem. Here is what I did, using your advice: Post By James T in Murphy (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerWow, spray and wash and the bounce sheet worked like a charm, fast and easy, within 5 mins my extra large dryer drum was spic and span and free of any gum, thanks to all:) Post By Diana (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerI sprayed oxy clean on the gum in my dryer and let it set for 1 minute then I used a dryer sheet to get the gum off. After getting the majority off I finished the job with a Mr Clean magic eraser, worked like a charm. Post By Billy K (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerThank you so much for the suggestion. My wonderful husband washed and dried his clothes with a pack of gum. My whole dryer's interior was covered in gum. I used an off brand of fabric softener sheet sprayed with an off brand of spray stain remover. It really worked! I was amazed. I took about 20 minutes and it was all off! Post By Faith (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerAccidentally left gum in my pockets. I warmed up the dryer and sprayed on oxi clean and used a sponge to wipe it away... perfect! Post By Melissa (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerUsed clorox stain spray and a dobie sponge (textured) took about 10 min, but full size barrell is gum free. Thanks for the tips! Post By TN (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerI didn't have any Shout, so I used the Spray N Wash with Resolve in it, with the dryer sheets and it came off REALLY easily! Thanks everyone! Post By Kimmy (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerI wonder if nail polish remover would work on it? Post By Sabrina (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerI found that the scrubbing bubbles bathroom cleaner works really well. Just spray it on section by section and let it sit. I scrubbed it with a textured sponge. Post By Troy (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerThanks for the advise. I used a dryer sheet and wet it. It worked. Post By sandra (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerMarvelous! The gum was off in no time at all, thought I'd have to sit there for hours. Thanks for the tip! Post By Judy (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerIt worked I just used it on my dryer. Thanks for the help. Post By Liv. (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerI read this, and used a wet dryer sheet and it worked like a charm. Had a full pack of orbit caked on all the way around and I thought it'd take me an hour at least, and once it got going the sheets worked great I used about 3 on a full size drum. Post By Adam (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a Dryer
The Shout Spray worked GREAT! Post By Guest (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a Dryerdryer sheets soaked in shout work lovely, baby! Post By simon cowell (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerDidn't have Spray Shout it Out - so used gel - worked like a charm - little bit of rubbing with paper towel and voila - gone! Post By Ren. (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a Dryer
I had an entire pack of Orbit spearmint gum in the pocket of my jeans. Thank goodness this website exists! I ended up using SHOUT and an SOS pad! Worked like a charm! Post By Wrong (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerHelp. What is the damp dryer sheet thing to get a wad of gum out of my dryer? Thanks Post By sue (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerThe peanut butter worked. I had the gum in the washer and the dryer. Thanks. Post By Enter your name. (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerDryer sheet worked like a charm. THANKS. Post By michelle (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerThe vinegar really works. Saved me buying a new dryer. Thanks. Post By Jean (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerThe Shout it Out remedy works very well. thanks for sharing. Post By mlawless (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerMy husband had a coughdrop in his pocket and it stuck to my nylon dress sock and to the walls of the dryer. I read on this thread to use Shout to get it off-I went for my Shout spray bottle, and I forgot I had refilled it with white vinegar and guess what? It took it off the dryer walls and I mean EASILY! Just used a white paper towel. Threw away the dress sock, though. Post By Enter your name. (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a Dryer
it works Post By Enter your name. (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerRubbing alcohol works as well. Put the alcohol on the gum, let it set for about a minute and wipe it off. It takes a little elbow grease but it makes the dryer look shiny and brand new. Post By Enter your name. (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerHope this works. I am off to try it now. Thanks in advance. Post By Tanis (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerYes, I tried the same solution (wet wash cloth and shout it out) and it came out. Spray the solution on and let it soak for a couple of minutes and wipe it out. Post By maryt (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerAny form of gum, wheter it be orbit, trident, or doublemint, always turns black in the dryer! The reason being is that the chemical makeup of gum is heated, and the elements are denatured to leave a black sticky residue. Post By Enter your name. (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerIt absolutely works!! Thanks!! Post By Eleanor (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerDamp dryer sheet worked like a charm. Dried up gum in the dryer came off with very little elbow grease in about 10 minutes. THANKS! Post By Dave C. (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerPeanut butter...works every time. Gets gum out of hair, too! Now, if I can just get my family to check their pockets before throwing their clothes in! Post By Heather (Guest Post) Getting Gum Out of a Dryer
Very nice page you have here and i used gel for the gum and it worked great!!! Post By Cellie (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerMy oldest son left a whole pack of gum in his jeans pocket and my brand new dryer was laced with sticky residue! I just used Spot Shot Emergency Stain Wipes. It worked like a charm, took about 5 minutes to clean up and did not leave a strong odor afterward! I swear by it...this will become a regular in my household for the "emergencies" caused by my sons. :) Post By Angela (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerAm trying the peanut butter in the dryer to get out gum. Thanks for all of the tips!!!!!! Post By Bigmamu1. (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a Dryeri just read this forum to see what other people said. i would say that the goof off will give the best results, and in a dryer drum use the new gel goof off for best results. the gel will help to get the drum all the way around clean. Post By sears associate (Guest Post) RE: Getting Gum Out of a DryerThis works to get gum out of carpet, so it should work in other places too: peanut butter. Just spread/smear peanut butter on the gum and it will break the nasty stuff down. (They oughta outlaw that vile substance). Post by Alph |
