Aspirin for Plants

With regular doses of aspirin - every two months - indoor and outdoor plants will grow more, bloom better and have fewer fungus and pest problems. Aspirin prevents plants from producing a substance that hastens aging or wilting.

To make one gallon of aspirin solution:

Dissolve a regular strength, uncoated aspirin tablet in one cup of water. Discard one quarter cup of the solution, then add enough plain water to make a full gallon.

RE: Aspirin for Plants (answers)

I am doing a science fair project on this topic. I am in middle school. Here are some answers to your questions.
Yes, it can be used on almost ALL plants as long as you follow the instructions. You must discard some of the solution because on the bottom is where most of the aspirin is (even when you're done stirring.) So the top is mostly all water anyway. You give each plant the solution as you would any regular fertilized water (just when needed) only give the plant water so it is wet. Don't let it drown in water, but don't be afraid to give it the water either. The aspirin won't burn the plant, if you follow the instructions carefully.

So far my plant with aspirin in it has a richer color it is growing MUCH MUCH faster and it is very full.

At Christmas time, my dad used aspirin water for the tree, i couldn't believe the difference this made.

comment if you have any more questions.

RE: Aspirin for Plants

Just wondering. Why do you have to discard 1/4 of the solution?

RE: Aspirin for Plants

Regarding this tip, HOW MUCH of this solution do you give each plant each time?
Is it good for flowering shrubs, ie. Rhoderdendrums, Azaleas, Humming Bird Vine, Honeysuckle, etc.???
