Kitten Flea Bath

If I am fostering a kitten and it is full of fleas, I always give it a warm bath with Dawn dishwashing soap well rubbed and bubbly into its fur. It has to stay under water for at least five or more minutes, (not the head, lol,) and the fleas will make their way to the head and then you pick them off and drop them into water set aside in a cup where they drown.

You have to talk to and reassure the kitten while bathing, and also be ready to pick the fleas off on the facial area. Also, Kittens love to have warm breath blown on them if they are docile. Also, kittens need to have their claws trimmed, just a little bit, before handling, just enough not to hook you in the face when you are cuddling them!

RE: Drink Lemon Water Before and After A Massage

Whenever I have had a massage the only thing I was told was to drink allot of water after. It does have something to do with getting rid of impurities from the massage as your muscles are not used to it and they are sometimes sore after and yes the water helps. But you really do not need the lemon plain water is fine. Those massages are great esp the one's where they use the rocks. I do not even want to move after one Come to think of it I do not want to move after any massage I have had. Well enjoy your massage's and you know that sounds really good right now! Darlene

RE: Drink Lemon Water Before and After A Massage

It's worth being frugal to save for a massage or other item, without whipping out the plastic for it. Thanks for the pain-control idea, I like to let the masseuse do a real deep treatment and then be sore later.

RE: Kitten Flea Bath

if there is a young kitten the flea treatments are too dangerous. just because cats "dont like water" doesnt mean that a bath to get rid of its HARMFUL AND POTENTIALLY DEADLY fleas is a bad thing.

RE: Kitten Flea Bath

Have you throught about Advantage? I buy it online for my (indoor) dogs and keep them on it all year. They cannot then bring fleas into my indoor kitties.

I think Advantage would be less traumatic than a bath with dishwashing soap.
