Wrinkles on My Wedding Dress
Shelley from Colorado Feedback About This Post:RE: Wrinkles on My Wedding Dress
I would like some help on ironing out wrinkles on a wedding dress. My niece is getting married but taking her formal wedding portraits on Friday, January 2nd. I live out in the country and have to travel at least 45 minutes to town. I know it will be to late for me to get it to a cleaners. Can you give me some ideas on how I can do something at home? My wedding is in a few weeks and I am afraid to take my dress to dry cleaners. Can I steam this at home? It has organza overlay which is kinda wrinkled, but not very badly... I noticed that organza doesn't have as much wrinkles as other fabrics. Post By olesya (Guest Post) RE: Wrinkles on My Wedding DressMy dress had a silk organza overlay that wrinkled terribly. We had good success using a steamer filled with purified water. Post by sigma28 how to iron my silk wedding dress?
OK i need some serious help in here. Post By Dina (Guest Post) RE: Wrinkles on My Wedding DressThanks so much! My wedding is in just one week. I have had my dress hanging loosely hoping the wrinkles would fall out, no such luck. But now I feel much better about ironing it inside out, on a low setting Thanks one less thing to worry about Post By Donna (Guest Post) RE: Wrinkles on My Wedding DressThank you so much, because I'm getting married April 26th and I wanted to avoid putting my dress in the cleaners. My dress is in a box, once I iron it, what can I place it in that will keep the wrinkles from returning. Post By Tammy (Guest Post) RE: Wrinkles on My Wedding Dress
most people don't know this - but satin is a weave not a fabric. You can have a silk satin - which is pure silk fibre in a satin weave - which is what most people call "silk". What is refered to as "satin" is actually polyester in a satin weave! Most irons have a polyester setting! Post By Crystal (Guest Post) RE: Wrinkles on My Wedding DressMy dress has many layers. How can I get the wrinkles out without taking it somewhere? Post By Amanda (Guest Post) RE: Wrinkles on My Wedding DressThank you so much for your responses. I think I will try the iron. I bought some of that wrinkle release spray but then I was afraid to actually spray it on the gown. Thanks again for your help :) Post By Shelley (Guest Post) RE: Wrinkles on My Wedding DressI heard it is bad to use a hand held steamer, that they drip on the dress, thus making water stains. Post By Glinda (Guest Post) RE: Wrinkles on My Wedding DressTry ironing on a low setting. If that doesn't work, a dry cleaner or tailor can do a PRESS only, without cleaning it. Post By Enter your name. (Guest Post) RE: Wrinkles on My Wedding DressMy dress was wrinkled pretty badly too. I had a travel size steamer, didn't do me any good whatsoever. I ended up ironing it. Just use a low setting and put a thin towel between the iron and the dress. It should be completely fine. If you're not sure, contact a professional seamstress first. Post By Shannon (Guest Post) |
