So i guess i forgot to put my gas cap back on my car after getting gas.. i didnt realize until i saw this stain right under it. i have a white sports car, and here was this yellowish gas stain underneath from leaking fuel. i found this thread while searching google to try and wash it off.. no luck yet.. goo gone didnt work, nor did soap and water.. i hope i dont have to get a new paint job

One thing that everyone might want to consider getting a "lock type" gas cap. One other time when gas was so hard to get everyone in our suburb lost gas out of their boats, cars, pickup trucks, ect....not me I was the only one that had a lock type gas cap. Ever since I always have this type on my cars. They will run about $ 15 but well worth every cent ! Just an idea you might want to think about

There was one time that I didn't tighten my gas cap. A day later my "Service Engine Soon" light came on. Before taking the car to the dealer to have it checked out, I read my Owner's Manual and it stated that one reason that light could come on is that your gas cap wasn't on tight. Sure enough I checked and the cap was loose. About a day later, the light was off. Saved myself about $60 by reading my owner's manual first.
