RE: Homemade Parvo Treatment

I previously wrote about my experience with parvo and I'm happy to report my dogs seem great, jumping off the walls, eating and drinking on their own and with a healthy appetite so I wanted to give the recipe for what we used in hopes it helps someone else. All products were from natures sunshine brand and the store in lochbuie colorado is called country herbs. 4 oz water 2 tablespoons chlorophyll 2 tablespoons ionic minerals 5 pills probiotic eleven 1/2 tsp black walnut extract 1/2 tsp vs-c and 3 tsp of silver shield. mix all together. for my 6 month old cocker we gave 10 ml and 4 ml for my 3 month miniature sch. every hour. Also gave peidialyte and pepto when needed. my dogs are wonderful would never think they were recently sick but still giving every hour for today and will cut back slowly for a few days. I really hope this helps.

RE: Homemade Parvo Treatment

Hi i have a 3 1/2 month old mnt. shcnouzer (?) and a 6 month old black and tan cocker spaniel, about 5 days ago my sisters dog who is here a lot came down ill, and stayed very sick for about 2 days and started improving, then my cocker starting looking a little sick but nothing serious about a day later, but by the third day my 3 month old heidi was very lethargic. I took her to the vet to find she had parvo which was a shock because the other ones were not that sick but even more a shock was the $1200 - $1700 a day treatment they told me was the only way to save her.

Now I understand I should have had them vaccinated but when I am pleading w/ the vet for any suggestion on a home remedy or anything i can do at home to try to save them because i don't have the money to put one let alone two in the hospital and all they tell me is to "relinquish" my dogs or they will die? Talk about no morals. even a sugg would have been nice. I am still very upset at the cold way they go about help, i mean seriously a suggestion is all I asked for from a few vets. But beyond that my nephews grandmother owns

an herbal shop so we called her, she has set us up w/ an array of 4 diff herbs, in a mix that we give them every hour and pushing fluids. My dogs have not been very happy about this so we have had to do it w/ a syringe in the mouth but we put very small amounts and in the side of the mouth to prevent choking. The mix includes some natural anti biotics, something for their colon, some ionic minerals and a few other things. The reason i am blogging is both seem to be doing well right now, my cocker is looking 90% and my baby about 70% and its only the 2nd day of treatments.

The baby was very well yesterday, no vomiting and this morning had a solid bm but a little later in the day she did throw up w a little blood in it so still a very close eye on her, but I just want to give people hope. I know they have a lot of treatments for sale online but I did not want to wait for the shipping and Julie is truly excellent at what she does, anyone around Lochbuie Colorado can see her for immediate meds. when I found out they had parvo I really appreciated this site because it gave me a lot of hope that was previously crushed and some good suggestion so I hope this helps and I plan to blog in about a week when i can see the outcome but I can say I am much more optimistic than when I was sitting on the bench in the vets office.

RE: Homemade Parvo Treatment

I came upon this site when my dog contracted Parvo less than a week ago and was hopelessly trying anything to save him. I know taking them to the vet is number one but when you don't have the money it is impossible to do. I noticed my dog was not well on 10/7/2009 and then we thought he was just not feeling good when we notices the next day he was not eating or drinking any water or wanting to do anything we figured that he was just under the weather and was just not that hungry but on Friday he started throwing up and we knew he had parvo. I have had other dogs that had it and we were scared that we were going to lose him also but we went to a feed store to see what they could give us and they told us lots of vitamins and electrolytes which they sold to us and a syringe to give him the water with, every 2 hours I think we had caught it in time but what I noticed was he was throwing the water right back up.

So I searched and came up on this site I saw all the posting with pepto bismol and Gatorade and decided to try it out what we did was mix his electrolytes with the Gatorade and gave that to him every 2-4 hours even at night time we all took turns feeding him the water we gave him the pepto bismol 1-2 times a day but only half a syringe, it worked so good for him it is now 10/13/2009 and my dog is doing much better now he is playing and eating almost back to his normal self I just want to say it worked for my dag it can work for your you just have to have faith and pray that they will get better by the way. My dog is an akita male.

Save your money or save your pet. Your choice. If you think your animal has parvo, get it to the vet fast.

There is no homemade treatment, get your dog to the Vet ASAP. Parvo can be fatal. Jennifer Northern Virginia

RE: Homemade Parvo Treatment

Please take your baby to the vet! Parvo is not something a home remedy will cure! :-(

RE: Homemade Parvo Treatment

Please take your pet to the vet ASAP. Parvo is nothing to mess around with. Your pet could die without proper treatment.
