Remove Rust From Inside Antique Tea Kettle

I purchased an antique metal tea kettle and it is lined with rust and sediment inside. Any ideas of how to remove this? Thank you,

try two options seperatly. First. Fill kettle with white household vinegar. Let stand one hour then gently rinse with warm water. If this doesn't work. Try CLR. a product you can find in the grocery stores by the cleaning products. Use plastic gloves. Fill and swish around. It may take a few applications. When clean. Dry well and fill with black and white newsprint for about one week to help it stay clean and odor free.

This may not be the cheapest method, but I would get some of the cleaner called Lime Away and soak the inside of your kettle with that. I haven't tried this tip, but vinegar and baking soda might be worth a try, too. Rinse well before you use it of course!
