Craft Ideas for School Sock Hop

I am running a Sock hop for my DD's school. It is a K-3rd school. I am all set but I need a craft for the sock hop theme and I am drawing a blank. It needs to be easy and cheap. I would appreciate any ideas! Thanks in advance!

Sockman!
Stuff a small white tube sock with fiberfill (or old panty hose or whatever.) tie off a neck about 1/4 of the way from the toe and a midriff 2/3 of the way down. Before you close off the bottom, add a small bag of sand (for ballast). Running stitch around the edge and pull tight then tie off. Children can decorate their snowman with chenille stems for arms (poke through sock to other side or wrap around neck), beads, old buttons, foam stickers, crayons, markers etc

What about the macaroni pictures from Bible school? Consruction paper, glue and macaroni. Draw the outline with a Sharpie, then outline and fill in with macaroni.

Those are both great ideas, the sock puppet would be easier. I think the older girls would love the pom poms, I have to see if I can divide the group up maybe K and 1st and 2nd and 3rd. Thanks for the ideas, they are both inexpensive too! Gotta love that!

How about making pom-poms for their sneekers, from white yarn strips, with tiny little bell on them?
