Star Themed Wedding Decorations

My sister-in-law is having her wedding in May. She wants a star theme for decorations for her reception hall. Please give me some tips on accomplishing this the inexpensive way to get the formal and elegant look.

Thanks,
Amanda from Alabama

RE: Star Themed Wedding Decorations

Strands of small white lights inside of rolled up tubes of tulle look like "fairy lights" or stars. We had them strung in a gazebo-like structure from the ceiling. Tea lights on foil covered cardboard stars would work for tables.

Hi,
I would look into silver paint and stencils, maybe various sizes. Probably find at craft store or educational supply store. I've seen silver Christmas garland with stars too, might find some on clearance.
Oh...and check Ebay for deals.

RE: Star Themed Wedding Decorations

My daughter got married a few years ago and she wanted blue daisies, which we suprisingly found at Michaels...but ended up with "star" things as well. I made some small centerpieces from toilet paper tubes, covered with foil wrap. Each had some plaster of paris in bottom so it had weight to it, then small piece of green foam. arranged some silver and white stars on stems (found at the dollar store), some silver grassy stuff. and inserted somelong curly things...eventually they went into my Christmas tree...hung stars and "gems" from ribbons, again from dollar store above the dance floor with some tulling and white lights. My son told me I should go into the Wedding Coordinating business. Too much stress for me!! Hope this is any help. Email me at belleandbo@yahoo.com. Mari Lu
