Canada Day Is July 1st

Canada Day Fireworks In Ottowa

I am happy to read how much many members enjoy the U.S. 4th of July holiday. We here, in Canada, celebrate Canada Day the 1st of July. Canada Day is the day we celebrate Canada's independence from the British commonwealth.

We celebrate our holiday much the same way you celebrate your holiday with fireworks and picnics and of course, the muchly appreciated day off!

Canada Day is the celebration of the union of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec and Ontario into what was the begining of Canada. Canada is still part of the British Commonwealth, along with New Zealand, Australia, etc. The Charter of Rights and Freedoms in 1982 gave us our "independence". Please brush up on your history!
