Caramelized Popcorn

This is similar to Fiddle Faddle.

Ingredients

1 tsp vanilla
2 sticks butter
1 1/3 cups sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup
2 quarts (popped) popcorn
1/2 cup peanuts

Directions

Mix first 4 ingredients and cook over low heat until light brown in color. Pour over peanuts and popcorn. Stir to coat and let cool.

Hi from England. Can some kind person advise me as to what "Corn Syrup" is. This is mentioned in this Pop Corn recipe and various other recipes and I am not aware of what the UK equivalent of Corn Syrup is. Thanks for any information you can give.

Editor's Note: Corn syrup is called golden syrup in the UK. Hope this helps.
