Kitten Accident ProblemThanks so much for your time. Christy Feedback About This Post:RE: Kitten Accident ProblemAMMONIA - a few cups in the laundry water with your soap - use small loads & cold water - let it soak - takes the pee stain & smell out (works on blood too) - dont use bleach near it - caustic combo. If that doesn't work or something you cant soak- try "kitty miracle" - I used a carpet cleaning extractor with ammonia soap to pre clean - then the kitty miracle after. best results of anything Post By colleen (Guest Post) RE: Kitten Accident Problem
My adorable 8 week old kitten is having trouble with where he goes pee. There is no ovious reason to why he woulnt use his litten box. He goes in it over 1/2 the time but I would love it to be 100% of the time. The way we punish him is we put him in a room where his litter box and food is keeped. How can we help teach the cat to go in the litter box all the time? Post By Kathy (Guest Post) RE: Cat Being Jealous Problem
I think i have the greatest cat i could ever have or ask for, but its outside 75% of the day and inside with me only for a couple hours. So i got a cute tiny kitten that i can play with while my cat is outside. But my cat, that i treat like my own daughter, is jealous and tried to attacxk the kitten through the screen. My cat is the nicest cat i ever met and i cant believe she did that. And my kitten i just got only tried to be friends with her. What do i do? i feel terrible about making my cat feel jealous, but the kitten and i have bonded already and it treats me like i'm his own mom. I need some serious advice can you please help me? Post By elsie (Guest Post) RE: Kitten Accident ProblemMy five month old kitten has suddenly decided to stop using the litter box for both body functions and proceeds to relieve herself wherever she is at the moment. When I catch her and try putting her in the litter box she gets crazy. I haven't changed the brand of litter and keep it clean so I'm not sure what the problem is. I also agree strongly w/vineger! I have a small cleaning business and I alway use vineger when I come across pets odors! If the pet urinates on blankets or any thing else that can be machine washed I add 1 cup of vineger to the wash, you can also add 1/8 cup vanilla extract to the rinse water, if the odor is real bad. Odo-Ban, available at Sam's Warehouse, is THE BEST for removing any type of odor. Less than $10 / gal, will dilute to make 32 gal. Post by ThriftyFun RE: Kitten Accident Problem
We have five cats and a 10-day-old kitten so, unfortunately, we've also had to contend with numerous accidents. I've found that vinegar works well for me. On the mattress, I would just pour on some vinegar and let it sit. Try not to get it too wet or, as with any liquid, you might develop a mildew problem. Post by FlaKathy RE: Kitten Accident Problem
My cat was jealous of my newborn and showed her displeasure on my bed and couch and random items left on the floor. I tried everything to get the smell out and found two relatively inexpensive and non toxic solutions. The first is a product called "Kids and Pets". It is a liquid enzyme cleaner but I found that it was cheaper and worked better than products like "Nature's Miracle. Plan to let the mattress dry for a full day as the stuff has to soak into the stain to work (you can use a black lite to see the organic residue). If the "Kids and Pets" doesn't do the trick, buy some Borax, wet the mattress where it is stained. brush the Borax into the mattress and let dry. It is also a great addition to smelly laundry and my new favorite all purpose cleaner. Most importantly, be sure to keep the kitten away from the spot as much as possible because cats will smell the urine and assume that it is a bathroom spot. Then you get to do it all again.
