Restoring Patent Leather Shoes

Little girls patent leather dressy shoes can be restored to new-looking with petroleum jelly! Just put a good-sized glob on a cloth and work it into the outside of the shoe, then remove and buff with another soft cloth. Look great for pennies!

To clean patent leather shoes, belts, purses, etc., wipe with a cloth moistened with white vinegar.

I remember my Mom doing this when I was young, it works great! ... Another "SHOE-helper" is to use a permanent black marker on the scuffed away marks first, then finish with the petroleum jelly. My Mom also used to raid my "64 colors" crayons box & borrow a crayon that would match her bright colored shoes... then "color" her shoe where the blemish was because they didn't make shoe polish in the color she needed... This works great too!

Crayons also work wonders fixing scratches in vinyl floors, wood furniture & Formica scratches & nicks too! (you can mix the colors together until they are right, then heat the area a just a tiny bit with a blow dryer)

I just used DUREX PLAY on my Patent shoes as i did not have any vinegar. All the marks have gone I think the marks were from drink.
