Use Baby Powder on Grease Stains

This always works. When you have a grease stain, use baby powder. Put a lot on it and let it sit for a few days. Shake it off and if it still looks greasy, pour more on and wait. A dog buried his greasy chicken bone in my suitcase on top of a silk blouse. I had to apply several times but the grease came out.

I dripped turkey grease on my sand color uggs last night. I tried some dish detergent to wash it out (using a soft tooth brush to clean it) but it did not work. I even tried some stain remover but, no luck. The stain is now 24hrs old. Do you think the baby powder trick will still work or is it too late?

I am so happy! I borrowed my niece's new light brown Uggs while she was gone and dribbled chicken fat dead center on each foot - arrgghhh! I didn't get far with the eraser but I tried the talc and the spots are gone! It took five or six times and a stiffish bristle brush (for basting actually) but the spots disappeared and I won't have to confess to my niece that I raid her closet when she is not around to keep an eye on it.

The baby powder DOES work! I got bearing grease - black, oily, smelly, icky grease on my Chestnut Uggs - even on the white sheepswool part. My sister didn't have baby powder, so we had to use medicated foot powder. It only took about 10 minutes. I put the powder on, rubbed it with a paper towel - repeated several times - each with a clean paper towel. You would never know that I got anything on my boots - the white is still white. I was amazed!

A big drop of oil from cooking slashed on my brand new chocolate uggs. I immediately put salt on the boot to absorb but that did not work. I'm now trying the baby powder. If that doesn't work, WHERE can I find a white eraser.

Please someone help I just got these new short sand colored uggs for Christmas and when I was getting out of the car I rubbed up against the front seat . I am think that it may be grease (from under the car seat). I have tried dabbing it with water and then I used a white eraser on it and that made it washed out the color I am running out of options, please help!

RE: Use Baby Powder on Grease Stains

People, I would strongly caution anyone from using erasers on UGGS. All that does is actually remove the suede fur from the boot. You cannot "erase" oil, the sheepskin absorbs it. You need to use baby powder to absorb the oil and brush it out.

If you get water on "Uggs" use baby powder then put them by the heater. IT WORKS! Try this!

I got snow on my new black uggs and it left a mark.I tried to gently clean them with a little bit of soap and water but it seemed to make them lighter in that spot. I am not sure if it is soap residue or if i took color out but i don't want to try anything and ruin them. Any suggestions please?

I just got balsamic glaze dressing on my new chestnut colored uggs! I tried to get it out with water, which obviously didn't work. Then I tried the corn starch which just made it look white! So I took some water to get it off, then let them dry and used an eraser, and it work! Yay :) Thanks so much!

RE: Use Baby Powder on Grease Stains

I dropped cooking oil on my brand new week old UGGS. I thought I was having a nervous breakdown! I immediately put hot water and a little detergent, which made it worse and then I decided to follow all of the advices on this site. I put baby powder on them and it didn't really do the trick oh and I won't use the suede brush because it damages the delicate sheep skin.

What really helped was the white eraser. I took about an hour and I also had to tweak and pull a little on the surface but now they look great. I think I personally didn't know I put the stain there I couldn't tell. Word of advice: don't use water use the baby powder right away and let it sit for a few hours and then user the eraser. And get the water and stain protected right away!

I had a water ring after trying to wash oil out of my uggs. I did that trick where you rub it with a clean part of the shoe and the ring was gone. Now I'm trying the cornstarch on the original stain.

I just bought a pair of UGGS last week and got chicken grease on them tonight. I was sick over it. But I looked online and saw a recommendation for cornstarch. I got my low cut sand color uggs about 3 weeks ago, on 10/26/08 after work I went to get some food with my boyfriend & when we left I ended up getting a drop or two of maple syrup on my uggs. When I got home I tried using hot water to get the stain off but it started peeling the fabric off with it. Prior to the stain the day before I was out & it started to down pour & my uggs got soaking wet. They dried and are a little dull. All I wanted to know is what is the best result to get the syrup stains out. Please let me know ASAP! Thanks. BTW you can see in the image how the fabrics starting to peel & the stain from the syrup. THEY ARE REAL UGGS!

white eraser

I just bought these uggs, never been worn before, classic short sand color, and I'm spraying them with waterproofing stuff. I had just eaten chicken parm, well I got a small bit of grease on the boot so I freaked out and googled it, and found this site. Thanks to who ever came up with the white eraser trick, it really works! For all those who said it ruined your boots, that's probably because you rubbed too hard, be very gentle and patient and the stain just comes right out. =)

white eraser on motor oil stain

I got some motor oil on my pair of Uggs. I thought there was no way to get it out so it has been there for a good month or so. I just read this article and used a white eraser on the stain. It didn't completely take it out, but it sure did make it way less noticeable.

I got new tall chesnut colored Uggs, and I wore them only three times. One morning, I woke up to find a black stain on them, and i felt horrible. I didn't know what to do. Previously, I had boughten Ugg slippers, and I had read a note that came along with them which said; inorder to remove any stains rub Uggs with a warm damp cloth. There fore, that was the first thing i did, and it came out to be a failure. Someone please help me. I already have two Ugg purchases and do not want to make another, becase of a stain! I read here about the "white eraser"(is this a regular eraser?), and i would like to know more about it. Please let me know how this works someone, before I die of panic. :|

omg it worked it was my first time wearing them and my aunt spilled the popcorn all over me and the oil stains ruined them. i was like so depressed and I came home and washed them with water, that just ruins the material. I tried this erase thing and it worked. I'm still going to buy new uggs but at least i don't have to throw them away now.

I had the exact same thing on mine so I took cuticle trimmers (like nail clippers but sharper) and pulled the sheepskin back up its hardly noticeable anymore and after a few hours working on it it should be just a little spot.

WET MY UGGS WITH WATER

Ok. So my chocolate uggs had previously got rain water on them and when they dried they still had the rain spot. So then I was just trying to see if it will eventually go away. A week later I wet the part that had the stain and was attempting to clean them. The only problem was that I didn't use the ugg cleaner & conditioner but a different product. Now when my shoes dried it seemed as if the material wasn't there. So I re wet them earlier this morning to try and clean the again. Can someone any help me with a solution to this problem?

Stains on Uggs

Okay, after reading these posts, I tried the methods suggested and NOTHING worked on my chestnut Uggs or my daughters chocolate Uggs. I originally tried the Ugg cleaner and conditioner and followed the directions exactly. Know what I got now? A big water stain around the original stain which was not that big and I should have left it alone. The cleaner made things worse! So I tried the white eraser. It worked okay on my daughter's boots but the stains are still there...just not as noticeable. I tried some baby powder. No change. As for mine, I cannot get the water ring off my Uggs no matter what I try. Short of just washing the whole boot, which I don't want to even attempt, are there any other suggestions for spot treating Uggs and/or get the water rings off? Thanks!

How to clean your ruined UGGS.

A couple moths ago I ruined my ugg when my brothe got in a minor accident and when his blood spilt on my shoes, my mother tried to remove the stain with laundry detergent, but this only ruined the material. Now it's a different color from what it used to be and the material is out of shape. If your Uggs were bought in a box it should include a cleaning kit with specific detail on how to use it. But I bought it at a store, like Ross, TJ Maxx, and Marshalls and it was opened and did not include this. I do suggest though that before you do anything to clean it up visit a shoe store or the place you bought them and ask for their advice. I hope this would help!
