Soap Pump Not Working

Can someone tell me how to make my pretty glass pump-style soap dispenser work again? The chrome top gets stuck and I've tried hot water and don't know what else to do.

try soaking it in a mild soapy solution or cooking oil or any oily safe substance you have for a couple of days and see what happens.

If all else fails, I'd go to Goodwill and buy another one the same size for $1 and replace the plunger.
