Cheap Jewelry CleanerI put ammonia and jewelry in a coffee cup for very short time, rinse, and rub with towel or soft cloth. I also use a toothbrush to get in the crevices. The shine is unbelievable. I haven't bought jewelry cleaner in years. By Pmcbee from Jesup, GA Feedback About This Post:RE: Cheap Jewelry CleanerYou can use white(not gel type) toothpaste as jewelry cleaner. Put a little on an old soft toothbrush, brush well and rinse with water. Do not use on pearl or opal jewelry. Post by Omanana RE: Cheap Jewelry CleanerA neighbor who worked in a jewelry store told me this years ago. The post about pearls is correct though. Use ammonia only for metal and gemstones. Post by Lynn RE: Cheap Jewelry CleanerBe careful however with pearl jewelry, as ammonia can harm it. Post by cats21dog RE: Cheap Jewelry CleanerThis is certainly a great tip. I will be definitely using this in the future. Post by southeastgeorgiapeach RE: Cheap Jewelry CleanerI use a combo of ammonia and dish washing detergent. Post by Laniegirl RE: Cheap Jewelry CleanerI use the blue window cleaner, Windex, which contains ammonia. Works just fine. Post by OliveOyl |
