Homemade Remedies For Toothaches

Any good remedies for toothaches besides over the counter or oil of cloves?

RE: Homemade Remedies For Toothaches

Many years ago, I used a shot of whiskey swirled around the achy tooth and spit out (I was pregnant). It not only helped with the pain, but was a type of antiseptic, until I could get to the dentist. It is imperative you get to a dentist ASAP!

Ditto, what the former dental assistant said as so was I. Also if you let it go to long it will get infected swelling up and BEFORE the root canal can be done. You have to take series of antibiotics BEFORE the dentist can begin the root canal. Also most general dentists do not do root canals sending you to a specialist. This will cost much more. Get to your dentist.

As a former dental assistant, I would tell you that you need to get to a dentist and have it checked out. Pain is the last sign that something is wrong with a tooth. Leaving it go and using home remedies could turn something simple, such as a filling into something much more expensive such as a root canal. I don't want to scare you, I'm just telling you what I know from 14 years in the dental field.

Rinse with warm salt water or ice pack wrapped in a towel outside the mouth.

These are according to my home remedies book.
