Movie Night Craft Ideas

I need help coming up with fun, inexpensive craft ideas for a kids movie night. One night, we will be watching Charlotte's Web and the other will be Over the Hedge. I would like some fun activities/crafts the kids can do before the movie to help make it a fun event. We don't know how many kids might show up but it might be as many as 200.

Thanks!

I agree with the suggestions below. Especially making pipe cleaner spiders! What an awesome way to keep their minds on the movie! Also try picking a "Word of the day" and then have the kids do something like snap their fingers or touch their ears. That way they'll end up watching the whole movie to see how many times they can spot that specific word. That's what my old teachers did and worked really well. 200 kids. You're so brave!

RE: Movie Night Craft Ideas

Hi there. Thanks for being an involved mom and planning a movie night. I have organized it for four years now for our PTA and it has always been a smashing success.
Here's the key...simplicity. Our kids are k through 5 and they are climbing the walls by mid point of the movie. I couldn't imagine extending the time by having a craft also. Perhaps some kind of a craft in a bag, that includes directions, for them to take home. But, not at the site.
I would be more than willing to share out set up, tips etc if you would like. Just email me at debbieomi AT hotmail.com.
Good luck!

Hi--If you have older kids in the group (would could safely work with this) you can recycle old, burned-out light bulbs (kids could even bring them) to make spiders. Paint them black (probably spray is best), use the metal base as the head and attach googly eyes, and use black pipecleaners for legs. They are very cute.
