Oil Stains On Sheet Rock

Fuel oil was recently spilled on the sheet rock wall next to our oil tank. I can see the areas where the fuel oil stained the wall. What product is best to use for cleaning the spots? The wall had been painted with latex paint.

Try shilac based Zinzer. It works for us.

You can get a product called "TSP" which is Tri Sodium Phosphate. It is wonderful for getting nicotine off of walls for painting. If that won't due, KILZ is a sealant you can purchase, but it's spendy in the gallon cans. You can sometimes get some in smaller containers.
For instance, it is the only thing that can seal cat urine in subfloors so you know it works.

Once you fix the problem, I would put up some plexiglass or aluminum, even if it's just the cheap cookie sheets you get from the grocery store and prevent it from happening again.
Good luck!
