Permanent Marker on Plastic Bumper

Some kids on my street decided to get a permanent marker and have some fun on my plastic bumper. Anyone know how to get it off without ruining my brand new custom paint job?

Things that did not work: alcohol, dry erase marker, floor stripper, goo gone spray gel, bleach, hydrogen peroxide, metal polish, baseboard cleaner, clr, soft scrub, expo dry erase board cleaner, or windex.

I used hair spray on the silver plastic on my TV. Trouble was, it lightened the color as well. It DID work though.

Did anyone really read the words "PERMANENT MARKER" and try any of these things on plastic or rubber, because I tried them all and not a single one of these ideas remove permanent marker from plastic or rubber. Maybe you folks are talking about crayola.

I had a permanent marker was on the plastic of a pillow sham. I tired everything on this page but it looked like it was setting more. So I took it to my bathroom with a million napkins and just started trying everything from toner to face cream and EUREKA. Ben gay. I know, sounds weird but came off so easily.

I found that going over the permanent marker marks with a dry erase marker, then wiping it off will remove the marks from plastic.

Just tried to get permanent marker off the silver casing of my tv. Tried the toothpaste suggestion which helped to remove a little but then tried some hairspray and it all came off within about 10 seconds!

Thanks alot....the Mr Clean magic eraser worked wonders on permanent marker on walls....you had to press hard and go in tiny circles when rubbing the stain..wet the sponge jsut slightly...Thanks again...

Mr Clean erasers work magic ! I've no doubt that it'll get the marker off of your car bumper.
My daughter drew w/permanent markers on our walls when she was 2...
Mr. Clean hadn't hit the market shelves yet.
Nothing got that marker off until 8 years later Mr. Clean did the job.
Suggest cutting the sponge into 4 or 6 squares saves on waste.

Thanks everybody. I'll try it when it gets a bit warmer out. We're going through a cold spell here. I have no idea who's kids it was. There are so many on this street theres absolutly no way to narrow it down to who did it.

Try WD-40

Several of my co-workers with small children say that using a Mr. Clean eraser (found near cleaning supplies) works like a charm. I have never used this but you might also try a little ammonia on a clean cloth. ""

If you know whose kids they are, the parents are responsible and liable for the cost of this repair. You might try OOPs or GooGone, but try them in a hidden place irst to be sure they won't remove the finish.

Try alcohol. If not nail polish remover. My hubby tried these for oil spots on his and it won't hurt the paint!
