Cleaning My Son's Comfort Blanket

My 2 year old son has a blanket that he takes everywhere with him. He uses it as a comfort blanket and often has it him in his mouth, chewing and sucking on it. I try to clean it on a regular basis, but it still smells. I was just hoping for some advice on how to wash it to get the smell and stains out.

Wash it when he is sleeping on a daily basis.
See if you can get him to add another blankie.

You could read him a story and have the new blanket in your lap.

Had 3 blankies for my son and that took a lot of the pressure off me trying to keep 'em clean.
If I had to do it all over again, I'd make all three identical.

Wash it in your regular wash then rinse it in vinegar. that should help.

I was going to say use vinegar-that's a big
help. Then also try Febreeze. One other
thing-a couple I know bought an identical
blanket so they had one to wash and one
to give the child. Good luck

I would soak it in dreft which has the enzymes in it or also try white vinegar which will take out all the soap and odor, but rinse 2x. Every month we add a cup of vinegar to our towels and then rinse 2x again. It removes all the soap residue and our towels are soo soft afterwards. Good Luck and Happy Holidays. Julie
