Good Recipe for Seasoned Butter Beans?

I would love a tasty recipe for seasoned butter beans - for crockpot or stove top. Preferably like the Glory Brand but a lot less costly --Last time I had any, they were 87 cents a can!

Looking forward to hearing how everyone makes theirs!

Yum for butterbeans! I only use frozen ones as the ones in the can taste funny. I use 2 Maggi vegetable bouillon cubes for a large bag and add a heaping tablespoon of butter or margarine. As they are almost done, I add a tablespoon of sugar and then finish cooking them until they are tender. I never cover butterbeans while cooking - too much foam and they always boil over. I omit the salt and we add finely ground black pepper when served at the table.
