Kennel Cough Home Remedies

Does anyone have a remedy for kennel cough? We can not afford to keep running to the vet. Our dog has had all his shots 3 weeks ago. After this date we took him to a kennel for a weekend, and now we have a problem. He sees to have picked up something from one of the the dogs there.

By the way he did have his shots last year as well. He has also been to the vet recently and may have been exposed to a dog that had not been inoculated.

Anyway, can someone give us a tip of some sort? Hopefully save us a vet bill. Thanks in advance for your support.

Thank you for your information. Just for everyone that reads my posts. We got our Yorke to baby sit for my grand daughter 5 years ago, and he ended up staying. Right now he is going on to 8 years old. He has never been a healthy dog to speak of. He has an enlarged heart, and it interferes with his breathing most of the time. It interferes with his wind pipe. He has had all his shots. This time they are the ones for 3 years. After that we had a Battle with flees. At that time the vet put on Advantage. After that he spent 4 days at a day care. All this within 2 weeks. I think things are not going good.

Everything started all at once.We have been to the vet and they possibly will give him an xray soon to find some of the problems. This is a lot to take in but that is why we are on this site for.To find help,as well as to pass on everything that we learn, for other peoples to benefit from. He eats good drinks a lot. Now that the weather is getting colder he has a bout when he goes outside.

He sounds like an idling car when he is on his back resting or sleeping I think we know what future holds. He is good company when he is good. Sooner or later I think his heart will give out. Surgery is out the vet thinks that he would not come out of it.We will keep him as long as possible, unless we get lucky with something. Thanks for all the tips so far. Agie

RE: Kennel Cough Home Remedies

Agie,
it is a little late for this now but if you can still find some green black walnut hulls put them in your dogs water otherwise you can buy green black walnut tincture online, just be sure it is green. Give your dog 10 drops twice a day, if he is pretty bad I would suggest taking him to the vet, otherwise google Wolf Creek Ranch they have a lot of great herbal animal remedies. Have your dog vaccinated specifically for kennel cough vaccine for it is very inexpensive. Most Farm stores sell a lot of things for dogs like tapeworm medicine, kennel cough treatments etc, that are cheaper than the vet but usually not in the concentration that you would get from the vet. Hope this helps.

RE: Kennel Cough Home Remedies

Boomer, can you please elaborate on your remedy from a farm supply dealer. I am in the middle of an agricultural area. No problem finding a tractor dealer or anything else for that matter, as to agriculture. Agie
