Cleaning Leather ClothingApril from North Henderson, Illinois Feedback About This Post:RE: Cleaning Leather ClothingHi All: I've read with great interest your questions regarding cleaning and curing mold/mildew from leather items. For the past 15 years we have done just that with Leather Therapy Restorer/Conditioner (biodegradable). It is used in museums to cure the effects of dry, moldy leathers, to keeping saddlery strong & mold free, enhancing faded leather furniture and leather clothing (including full leather motorcycle racing suits), etc. We also hold the patent for washing leather in the home laundry. It's certainly been an interesting time:) If I can be of some help to your readers, please ask. Anna Post by LeatherTherapy RE: Cleaning Leather Clothing
I've had great success tossing leather garments in the washing machine; gentle cycle, cold water, minimal mild detergent. Hang to dry. Post by wordswork RE: Cleaning Leather ClothingHi April, you might also try, first hang it out in the sun to dry out the mold as much as possible. Then take a soft brush and brush as much of the mold off as you can, and repeat this a few times, until clean.Susan Post By Enter your name. (Guest Post) RE: Cleaning Leather Clothing
My son got blood on a new suede jacket, the dry cleaners here sent it to the city and it came back stained. A native aquaintance said wash it and hang it on the line on a windy day. All the stains came out and it looked great. Post By SIRIS (Guest Post) |
