Making Cloth Stiffer for Cross Stitching

I bought robin cloth 18 count afghan size 58X43 inches. The squares are so soft and flimsy that they move when cross stitching and make my work look uneven. Any ideas on how to make the cloth stiffer while cross stitching?

I would suggest that you buy or make a frame for the piece. Using a hoop may leave marks.
You might also check with a fabric shop or even better contact a crosstitch magazine for suggestions.
Many of the crosstitch mags have online sites and forums. Put in a search and pick your favorite.

How about an embroidery hoop? Stretch it taut in the hoop. That should work.
