My husband and I are into music and concerts...he plays guitar. We decided to have a fall wedding and added a little bit of the stuff we liked. We had each table assigned a "band name" instead of numbers. We also had our guest seating cards printed with music notes. It was little touches that made the wedding tasteful and unique.

It's illegal to give out CDs according to US copyright laws. If you are not a licensed dealer, you may not give out your music, weather or not you payed for it originally.
The copyright law is a simple 2 part test. If you did not purchase it or get permission from the creator to produce/duplicate/distribute/etc. the media it is an illegal transfer of media.

You could cover glass or plastic vases (or anything else like a cut off empty 2 liter) with a piece of sheet music of a romantic or favorite song to make unique and fun vases for flowers or candles. make the grooms cake musical like a guitar or another instrument or a musical note. give out cds with your favorite music or even better a recording of your personal music for favors. they probably have music themed scrapbooking paper (you know the square stuff) that you could use for placemats, under centerpieces, place cards, handmake tiny favor boxes (im sure you could find a template online somewhere). good luck!

I'm also doing a musical themed wedding and we are giving out guitar picks printed with our date and initials. We are young and concerts are our favorite thing so these are perfect for us. They are extremely cheap and unique!

How about making centerpieces/table displays by spreading sheeyymusic artfully, and topping with actual musical instruments? As long as nobody is going to mess with them, it seems your friends would let you put their clarinet, trumpet, etc "on display" for a few hours. If you and your fiance are light-hearted, fun types, I would suggest kazoos as party favors for the guests. They could even give you a kazoo chorus as they throw the rice, or as you enter the reception hall!

Ahh! The junk cd's you get in mail or AOL freebie Cd's, ...paint one side your wedding colors add
your names, date of wedding, and on flip side
just put musical notes on it and the light reflection
will be so pretty, you can stand t them up for
centerpeices etc or
use clear fishline string and hang them up
for decorations,

If your town has a year-round Christmas shop (we even have them in Florida!), look to see if they have miniature replicas of instruments, etc. We have many on our Christmas tree, such as violins, hunting horns, Asian instruments, etc. May you have a merry wedding! CayC

One thing to note -- it's illegal to copy music via the Internet without paying for it. If you do decide to make CDs for favors, be sure to purchase the songs legally through a pay download site.

Another cute idea would be to copy and shrink a copy of a favorite (or wedding) song. Burn the edges to make them look old and at the bottom of the page include a note of thanks with your names and wedding date. Roll this up in the little inexpensive wedding rings from wilton.

For our wedding shower we had made a white chocolate bride and groom to set at each tablesetting. You might wish to consider chocolate and white chocolate 'musical notes' at each setting for a favor. Inexpensive yet practical.

for favors, you can make up cds with all the songs that are important to you and your fiance. buy the blank cds and have a computer savvy friend burn the cds for you
