My Puppy Swallowed a Fly

My puppy appeared to have swallowed a fly. Now it is restless. Please suggest a home remedy.

Thanks in advance,

My dog, Doodad, loves to catch flies and no harm .....just look at it as a little extra protein in the diet ;-}

Animals eat bugs all the time. Don't worry about it.

RE: My Puppy Swallowed a Fly

Animals do eat insects of all sorts and can get some that have been poisoned, but if the housefly was flying, it must have been healthy and not the cause
of the dog's restlessness. I suggest that the dog needs more exercise/water, and less dry food, which is high in salt, making animals more sensitive in their nerve endings and muscles. Try adding a little meat/fish/chicken three times a week, even though you are likely vegetarian? Eggs are a good protein alternative to meat, of course, and one a day mixed raw into the dog's dry food, with plwnty of water nearby should clear him up and settle him down. Also, allow your dog to eat a little organic grass, because dogs/cats eat grass when they have an upset stomach. Good luck and may the Creator of Heaven and Earth bless you. : )

RE: My Puppy Swallowed a Fly

Its highly unlikely that the puppy's restlessness is from swallowing a fly...but I notice you're from India...what type of fly was it? alot of dogs chase down to specifically eat the normal house fly, or bees or anything else that flies by...don't worry the insect eating, but keep an eye on the puppy for the real reason it seems restless.
