Hole in Sofa Slipcover

My dog has "dug" a five inch hole in my navy blue sofa slipcover, and it's right in the middle of the first cushion. I can sew it up, but how can I cover the spot, or disguise it? I welcome all ideas (except stuffing the dog and putting him on the spot). Thank you!

Put a matching or contrasting color throw blanket over your sofa - problem solved.

You could applique a design (flower or toile scene) over the mended hole and repeat the design on the center for ALL the cushions.

Maybe cover it with coordinating material, maybe even a quilt square and do the same to the other two cushions so it just looks like a special spot to sit.
