Organizing Hair SuppliesMelissa from Greenville, MI Feedback About This Post:RE: Organizing Hair SuppliesI washed out a peanut butter jar for my daughters. It clear and plastic with a screw off lid it works great. We keep it in a pocket in the shoekeeper we use to hold or bathroom things Post By Dawn (Guest Post) RE: Organizing Hair Supplies
Once a friend knit strips about a inch wide really not sure of the length. Put like a car ring on it you could use any loop she made two and put them on the same loop. she got a round basket not to deep and criss crossed it on the bottom. I hung it in my bathroom by a plant hook you can stretch the knit straps to make it where you can reach it I put the scrunches in the basket. For hair "TOOLS" Like hair brushes, combs & curling rods, I like to use one of those "Stand-up" kind of silverware organizer. But for scrunchies, clips & hair combs, I like to use the "lay-down" type of silverware organizer. These are often sold at thrift stores & $dollar stores! Post by Cyinda RE: Organizing Hair SuppliesI have four girls and including me - that's five girls with long hair. I got a small board and 6 pegs - drilled 6 holes about 1.5- 2 inches apart for the pegs to fit in. We keep our colored elastics organized on the pegs. One or two colors for each peg - peg 1 is pinks/reds, peg 2 is oranges/yellows, peg 3 is greens, peg 4 is blues, peg 5 is purples and peg 6 is black and white. Make the pegs as tall as you need for your supplies. I have loved it. It's easy to find the color you're looking for. We also wear barretts. I have a long ribbon and close the barretts on the ribbon. It's easy to see what we have. Post By Dana in Michigan (Guest Post) RE: Organizing Hair Suppliestry using an over the door shoe bag. Post by grammagogo RE: Organizing Hair Supplies
Are you sure you really use everything you didn't get rid of? Maybe you could try putting most of the items away for a month and use only a select few and see what happens--maybe you don't need to organize and keep up with all of those afterall. Post by Allison RE: Organizing Hair SuppliesI put each type of bobby pin, long, short, etc into separate containers, same for scrunchies, ponytail holders and tiny elastic bands. I use the disposable plastic containers made by "Glad" or similar company's. I keep a separate shallow container for the acessories I use everyday. You can put the lids on and stack them or just line them up on your dresser or bathroom counter. I have found this to be very convenient. With myself, my daughter-in-law and 3 granddaughters with long hair this has proved to be the most efficient way to stay orhanized. Post by debbielpayne RE: Organizing Hair SuppliesFor your small things, like earrings, rings, small hair clips, you can use ice cube trays from the Dollar Tree. I think you can get 2 or 3 in a pack there, and that'd give you plenty of space. Or, you can look at their other plastic containers. Post By Monica, from MO (Guest Post) RE: Organizing Hair SuppliesThank you, everyone! What a great bunch of ideas! Post by adrien_j9 RE: Organizing Hair SuppliesSome years ago there was a program called the Home show. Carol duvall ws the craft person on there. She made a wall hanging with ribbons hanging rom the top and some loops to snap on the sides. The hair clips were put on the hanging ribbons and the scrunchies in the side loops. This way all the hair accessories could be seen at a glance. Post by deebomb RE: Organizing Hair SuppliesLarge glass jars! Post By Enter your name. (Guest Post) RE: Organizing Hair SuppliesI keep my hair accessories and make-up in a bedroom drawer. I use small plastic trays to organize and divide them. I have a long tray which runs along one side in which I keep hair-clips and slides. Inside (on top of the clips) I have used empty cardboard tubes (from kitchen-towels) to thread all my elastics and barettes along. I simply lift the tube when looking for clips/slides). Much tidier and easy to slide off whichever band you want to use. Post By jojo (Guest Post) RE: Organizing Hair SuppliesSewing boxes and cutlery trays make great organizers for small things. A hanging shoe bag is good for the larger ones. Post by perfume and powder RE: Organizing Hair Supplies
Fishing tackle boxes for the really tiny things. If you don't have one handy you can use margerine bowls which are stackable. Store brand yogurt containers are small enough and are stackable. These can all be decorated with contact or you can decoupage fabric scraps to match your decor. Post by MartyD |
