Tired of Shaving My LegsThanks a bunch! Mitzi from DeLand Feedback About This Post:RE: Tired of Shaving My LegsSummergirl asked if the epilady could be used on the upper lip. I tried to do that over a year ago and it irritated my skin so much that I got horrible raw blistered patches. It looked like I had some kind of horrible STD, and I still have scarring that looks like a faint moustache. On the other hand, though, my mother uses it to get rid of a few pesky hairs on her top lip with no ill effects. I guess I'm just hairer and/or more sensitive. I'd wax instead, that's what I do now. Post By bohemia (Guest Post) RE: Tired of Shaving My LegsI find I don't need to shave as much as I used to and I never do in the Winter unless we're going on a vacation....such as we just got back from. Took the kids to an indoor waterpark! I have never shaved above the knees and I hardly notice any hair there anyway. Also my hair is light. On the bottoms of my legs I hardly get any growth on the backwhere I guess it has rubbed on my pants for so many years and just doesn't grow anymore. I don't shave under my arms too much in Winter....just when they get pretty hairy. I still wear shorts in Summer so I do try to keep the legs shaved but I'm not sure it is really that noticeable even when I don't and hey, is there a "leg hair police" out there? Come on....if you don't want to shave, don't....and don't worry about it! I'm past worrying about what others think! Post by Debbie52 RE: Tired of Shaving My Legsi just use the cream and im telling ya it took me like 10 min then washed it off and then my legs weren't hairy but shiny and it didnt hurt at all. And i just started today Post By Enter your name. (Guest Post) RE: Tired of Shaving My LegsI only shave my legs if I'm wearing a bathing suit or sheer stockings. My hair was once very dark and noticeable when I was young, but now I'm 48 and it has diminished considerably. (It is a wives tale that once you start shaving you can never stop because your hair will grow in thicker. If that were true, nobody would be bald. They would just shave their heads until the hair grew in thicker!) I do still shave my underarms every day, because bacteria gets trapped in the hair and can cause body odor. Also shaving does not have to be this complicated ritual with shaving cream, special lotions, etc. Just quickly shave in the shower while your legs are wet. Put some lotion on when you get out. That's it. Takes less than 5 minutes. Post By Mary (Guest Post) RE: Tired of Shaving My LegsDoes anyone know if Epilady works on facial hair on lip and chin? Post By Summergirl (Guest Post) RE: Tired of Shaving My Legs
I would suggest the Epilady. It pulls hair out by the roots, not that much grows back, and that which returns is usually lighter and finer. Post by cookwie RE: Tired of Shaving My Legs
Honey Post By peaches (Guest Post) RE: Tired of Shaving My LegsI am over 60 and stopped shaving 5 years ago because I was sick of the hassle. I didn't then nor do I now wear anything sleeveless, I haven't had a bathing suit on in years and don't plan to do so. The hair on my legs, in the beginning, was quite dark and coarse, but lo and behold, when I stopped shaving, I noticed after some months it wasn't as bad as it used to be. Is it still there? Yes. Can I see it. Yes. Do I let it bother me? Absolutely not! Same thing for underarm hair. It doesn't bother my dear husband and it doesn't bother me. The only time it crosses my mind is when I have to have yearly exams and I figure if the medicals have a problem with my hair ~ anywhere ~ then it's their problem, not mine. My daughter is a nurse and when we talked about it once, she told me I would be very surprised at the number of women who have just decided shaving is not worth it to them any more. i am one of the fortunate people. I have very light hair so my leg hair doesn't hardly show at all. I shave maybe two to three times a year. I am 49 and have been doing this for about 5 years. Post By Cookingcajun (Guest Post) RE: Tired of Shaving My LegsI used the Epilady....just once. It ripped out the hairs from the roots and they never grew back. Ok so it hurt like the dickens but I save a bunch in razors. I haven't shaved my legs in 20 years! Post by ENGLISHJUDY |
