Cleaning a Wood StoveThank you so much, Suzy from Clifton Forge, Virginia Feedback About This Post:RE: Cleaning a Wood StoveSince it is probably cast iron, I would check through the manufacture's reccomendations for cleaning (though something gentle, like Murphy's Oil soap, and then dry may be sufficient for dirt and grease) then sand down the rust with a fine grit sandpaper, and you can repaint (Rustoleum makes great flat paints) or see about who does powder coating in your area.
