Freezing Butternut SquashDeb from Dearborn, MI Feedback About This Post:RE: Freezing Butternut SquashSomeone told me that you can just cut them open, take out the seeds and freeze. Has anyone tried this? Post by debjean RE: Freezing Butternut SquashI do the same as above and also for Zucchini. I peel, then shred it. I freeze 2 cups in zip lock bags, and use for zucchini bread. Very good. Post By sharon carr (Guest Post) RE: Freezing Butternut Squash
I peel the squash, boil it, mash it and let it cool down. Post By Deanna from MA (Guest Post) RE: Freezing Butternut SquashI bake it or boil it until it scoops out easily, cool until easy to handle. Blend until smooth. Place into Zip Loc freezer bags and freeze. When I want to use I thaw it and either warm it on the stove top or bake, adding my favorite topping. Post By Donna (Guest Post) |
