Spanish Word for Candy Corn

How would you say "candy corn" in Spanish? I was thinking of 'dulce de maiz or dulce de elote' but both seem to imply an actual candying process.

There is probably no literal translation since it is not a Mexican or Spanish candy. Time to give up I think.

In Puerto Rico, they say, "dulce". Depends on the country.

"Do you want candy?" "¿Quieres dulces?"
Notice that in the question 'dulce' is pluralized.

This is so confusing, I just want to know how to say candy in Spanish for a school project.

Editor's Note: Here is a discussion on the subject. It appears that caramelo is the word that Spanish speakers use most often.
