i'm buying a frame Post By sophie (Guest Post) RE: Baptism Gift AdviceWe tend to give money for a baptism or earrings/cross/frame/ holder. but recently we went to a baptism and gave $140 for two of us and felt like it wasn't enough, since many of our friends gave more. Post By Jennifer (Guest Post) RE: Baptism Gift AdviceI give money. I recently explored giving a savings bond, thinking my nephew would get double the money I spent on maturity. What I didn't realize, the maturity on an EE bond is 30 YEARS! Post By Heather (Guest Post) RE: Baptism Gift AdviceTaking pictures during the ceremony would be a wonderful gift since the parents will be busy with the ceremony. Maybe even get a disposable Black & white film camera. My son received a nice My first bible , I thought that was a practical yet appropriate gift. If you could find a Noah's ark toy set, that would be cute. My daughter received money and jewelry Post by apmacik RE: Baptism Gift Advice
I think the best gift is cash. Then the parents should take that cash and put it in a savings account for the child and add to it any "extra" cash received for birthdays, Christmas, chores etc. (after giving the child some spending money of course). For any age bring a camera and take the pictures, a gift that will be treasured. Post By lindaljh1 (Guest Post) RE: Baptism Gift AdviceI was Baptized a Catholic but Married a Baptist and i have always crossed the palm of the Baby's hand with a silver dollar for luck and if the baby closes his hand over the coin he is going to be well to do but if he doesnt he will be a spender and who the baby belongs to and it didnt matter if they was getting Baptized or not i always keep a few silver dollar's in my purse for that reason just incase i come across a little baby when i am out Post By margaret (Guest Post) RE: Baptism Gift AdviceI think a really nice frame for the baptism photograph would be in order. Or even a heart felt letter about the importance of the baptism. Post By Mitzi (Guest Post) RE: Baptism Gift Advice
You did not say what faith this baptism was for. My faith does not give gifts for baptism. The baptism itself is a gift from God. Post By CARLA BLEDSOE (Guest Post) RE: Baptism Gift AdviceI've done the Savings Bond, but I usually go with a nice keepsake Bible, or a child's cross on a delicate chain. Post by mrsmutt RE: Baptism Gift AdviceI always buy savings bonds Post By Jill (Guest Post) RE: Baptism Gift AdviceIf you do a lot of computer work, you can buy parchment paper and make a real nice baptism "certificate". You can personalize it more than the official one will be by adding a picture or something special about the child. Then put it in an inexpensive frame, perhaps one with a mat in it. Post by MollieB55 RE: Baptism Gift AdviceMy husband's niece just had her 3rd child and I know we'll be invited to a baptism....or atleast feel the need to bring a gift when we see him. I also would like some ideas. This is her 3rd boy so she has plenty of clothes I would presume. I was thinking along the lines of some sort of keepsake. I also thought a nice picture frame or photo album. I know it sounds cheap, but I'd prefer to purchase something than to give money since I don't want to spend a lot! Post by Debbie52 RE: Baptism Gift AdviceWhat I always give for a baptism gift is a bank with $10-15 change in it. I buy a bank at the $1 store, and then put the money in mixed coins and a few dollar bills in it, put in a gift bag with tissue and it is ready. Post By jean (Guest Post) |
