Repairing Scratched Pans

What do you do for scratched pans? I don't want to throw them away, I do not know what to do.

If you are talking about damage to a Teflon type of coating, these pans are only good for about 1 year (even the expensive ones). Sorry 'bout that.

Replace with new cookware - check out Wolfgang Puck (for example) for cookware odds and ends at discount stores like Ross. They tend to have both good and low quality cookware at a decent discounted price.
If you want an expensive set whose quality you are VERY sure of, check out ebay.

There are only a few choices to do.
1. keep using them and ignore the scratches
2. recycle them
3. reuse them for something else in the house
** there are lots of reuse crafts out there for pots and pans

If deeply scratched or they start flaking...

You REALLY should toss or turn in to your metal recycling plant because minute pieces of the coating get into your food & is poisonous to our bodies.

There's really no way to fix the scratches once it happens. They'd have to be re-fired w/ another coat or whatever, which would be unfeasible for most people.

What kind are they and how bad are the scratches? Why do you think you may have to throw them away?
