Recommendations for Removing OdorsBy Michelle Taylor Feedback About This Post:RE: Recommendations for Removing Odors
My husband and I just purchased a home where three chain smokers lived. We have been busy trying all kinds of cleaners. Rather than the walls having paint, they have only primer. That's a bad thing because it is so absorbent. We found that using even "odorless" TSP only soaked into the walls and made us sick from the faint smell (we had the windows and doors open), We also tried washing the walls and ceilings with a water/vinegar solution. This made the house really reak! even after the walls dried. Having said that, the vinegar did clean off the nicotine somewhat, but since it absorbed so quickly into the primed walls, we had to work quickly to wipe the walls with paper towels. After steam cleaning it thoroughly the used couch I bought still stunk. For a week I then sprayed Fabreze, using up the entire bottle, but always the stink returned. Post By Mike C (Guest Post) RE: Recommendations for Removing OdorsI use Odo-Ban at the nursing home where I work and I put it in a spray bottle (diluted) and spritz it in the air and everywhere. It is wonderful and smells great too. It works well around toilets in the bathroom and the shower stalls also, just spray it on and let dry. Post by Julie1950 Removing Smoke Odor
I swear by Fabreze, I like Deep Clean. Just spray and it works! My mother in law comes to visit and her clothes stink of cigarette smoke! It very hard to get the smell out, of clothes and the bedroom, but Fabreze works! Also, for the air is Febreze Air Effects, I love meadows and rain, just spray in the air and smoke smell is gone! Good luck!
